Payroll Specialist at Community Action Partnership of Kern – Bakersfield, California

Summary: Under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and disbursing the Agency's bi-weekly payroll using payroll and time-and-attendance software. The Payroll Specialist works in a team to perform detailed administrative support work establishing and maintaining the Agency's position control system, maintains electronic and hardcopy employee demographic and pay data, and calculates and submits manual check payment requests. The Payroll Specialist reviews and tracks position incumbencies and vacancies and ensures they are correctly related to current and former employees as appropriate. The Payroll Specialist routinely interfaces with Agency employees and managers regarding payroll and time and attendance activities and procedures.

This is an on-premise, weekday position in downtown Bakersfield, California. This position is not eligible for hybrid remote work.
