Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and no experience required.

Job Summary:
Research Associate I performs varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.

Department Marketing Strategy:
The Research Associate will provide technical and scientific support for interdisciplinary neuroscience and translational brain health research within the Moody Brain Health Institute (MBHI). This position will contribute to laboratory and research operations within MBHI research programs, and the Brain Tissue Repository and Neurodevelopment areas.

The Research Associate will support a range of experimental, analytical, and laboratory workflows involving biological samples, human-relevant cellular models, tissue-based investigations, imaging, electrophysiological, and data-driven research approaches. The role involves performing laboratory procedures of varying complexity under general supervision while contributing to data collection, documentation, and maintenance of research infrastructure in accordance with established protocols and institutional policies.

Placement within specific MBHI research programs will be determined based on candidate qualifications, experience, and institutional needs.

Job Duties:
  • Assist with day-to-day laboratory operations and research activities across assigned MBHI programs
  • Support experimental procedures, biological sample preparation, and research workflows following established protocols
  • Assist with preparation, processing, organization, and tracking of biological specimens and laboratory materials
  • Contribute to data collection, organization, and basic analysis related to ongoing research studies
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, databases, and experimental documentation
  • Assist with quality control, compliance, and adherence to institutional safety and regulatory standards
  • Support laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, calibration, and inventory management
  • Participate in multidisciplinary research projects and collaborate with investigators, trainees, and technical staff
  • Assist with research reporting, figure preparation, and documentation as appropriate
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Salary Range:Actual salary commensurate with experience or range if discussed and approved by hiring authority.
