Position Purpose
The Vice President of Product Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the product vision, roadmap, and go-to-market strategies. This role will lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and customer-centric solutions, with a strong focus on operational readiness and commercialization. The VP will serve as a key partner to executive leadership, driving growth through product innovation and market expansion.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
· Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and multi‑year roadmap aligned with Firm objectives and market opportunities.
· Partner with executive leadership to shape business strategy and identify areas for innovation and growth.
· Lead the development, prioritization, and execution of the product roadmap, balancing innovation, scalability, compliance, and customer impact.
· Advocate for the customer through structured Voice of the Customer (VoC) programs and by ensuring customer needs directly inform product decisions.
· Oversee requirements gathering and translating needs into actionable user stories, specifications, and development priorities.
· Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, design, operations, marketing, sales, and client success to deliver high‑quality products on time and within scope.
· Launch new products and services, including determining the appropriate launch approach (pilot vs. full‑scale) and ensuring operational readiness across people, processes, and systems.
· Drive go‑to‑market and commercialization strategies, including pricing, branding, channel strategy, sales enablement, and alignment with client onboarding workflows.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product adoption, profitability, customer satisfaction, and overall business impact.
· Lead “build, buy, borrow” evaluations to determine the most effective path for bringing new solutions to market at scale.
· Manage internal tools, system roadmaps, and application support, ensuring scalable and efficient operational infrastructure.
· Build, scale, and mentor a high‑performing product organization, including Product Managers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
· Foster a data‑driven, customer‑centric culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
· Serve as a thought leader, representing the product vision internally and externally and acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders during major initiatives.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)
· Bachelor’s Degree required. I preferred MBA or advanced degree.
· 15+ years of relevant work experience.
· Experience in legal innovation, legal technology, or alternative legal service models (ALSPs).
· Background in B2C product management or service design within regulated industries.
· Familiarity with agile methodologies and design thinking principles.
· Proven success leading cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams (e.g., Legal, IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations, HR, Finance) to ensure readiness across people, processes, and technology.
· Experience building and launching new services within existing infrastructure as well as creating new offerings.
· Track record of operating effectively in high‑growth, rapidly evolving environments.
· Demonstrated ability to drive both strategic planning and hands‑on execution.
· Experience building and scaling teams from the ground up.
