Intern Trainee - Information Technology (2) at St. Louis County, Minnesota – Duluth, Minnesota

Are you hoping to find an IT internship for the summer? Our Information Technology Department is hiring! We offer technical and professional work that provides practical work experience for current college students or recent college and/or vocational/technical school graduates, that accomplishes special project workloads for St. Louis County.
This internship offers the opportunity to assist our IT Support Engineers supporting and maintaining end user devices and systems for internal business customers. With over 2,300 desktop computers, and over 150 applications spread across over 50 county locations, this intern will assist in resolving customer requests, including troubleshooting and triaging desktop and mobile device related issues. The work is performed in accordance with department policies, under the work direction and guidance of designated supervisory staff.

POSITION INFORMATION:
This internship will run for a three-month period of time tentatively set for June through August.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

• Candidates for Intern Trainee placements must be actively enrolled in a two-year or four-year degree program in computer science, management information systems, information technology or closely related field with Junior or Senior status; OR must have graduated from a two-year or four-year degree program in computer science, management information systems, information technology or closely related field within the last six months.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
We are looking for someone who has:

• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the appointing authority for consideration.

TENTATIVE RECRUITMENT & SCREENING PROCESS SCHEDULE:

• March 20, 2026 - Applicant screening will begin
• Week of April 13, 2026 - Interviews to be conducted
