We have an exciting new role for a Machinist Apprentice.

YOUR DIFFERENCE

  • Shop Operations Support: Assist with the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of shop machinery, tools, and equipment. Support fabricators and machinists by preparing materials and performing basic setup tasks. Handle and transport materials, tools, and products throughout the shop using forklifts, pallet jacks, or cranes as trained. Follow instructions accurately to complete tasks efficiently and support continuous improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Material Handling & Inventory: Assist with receiving, inspecting, storing, and tracking materials. Help maintain proper stock levels, conduct inventory counts, and ensure materials are organized and available to support production needs.
  • Shipping & Deliveries: Package, label, and prepare finished parts for shipment or delivery. Deliver finished parts and fabricated products to customers, vendors, or job sites using company vehicles while ensuring safe transport and accurate documentation.
  • Workplace Organization & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area by sweeping, emptying scrap bins, restocking consumables, and supporting general shop upkeep. Complete daily and monthly safety checklists and adhere to all company safety protocols and manufacturing safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration & Workflow Support: Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and help the team meet production deadlines. Communicate effectively with coworkers to support overall shop operations.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a fabrication or machine shop, or similar environment preferred.
  • Skills: Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity of shop tools and equipment with a willingness to learn new skills. Ability to read tape measure. Forklift or crane experience (or willingness to be trained. Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 pounds. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability: This position is onsite at our Omaha, NE location. A drug screen is required.
