About This Position
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant – PREIS supports AFG’s mission, and performs a variety of general office and secretarial duties in support of AFG’s prevention, youth development and academic enrichment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for general office duties such asansweringphones,making copies,assistingvisitors, data collection,maintainingdepartmentrecordsand schedulingmeetings.
- Ensure data entry of allpreventionactivities,includingschoolandparticipantcontacts.
- Participate in theevaluation of community outreach to high-risk youth in the community.
- Supportefforts to recruitnew participants through the schools. Assistwith distribution of marketing and program materials.
- Contact and meet with parents to secure consent for their child(s) program participation.
- Make certain food andsupplies areavailable duringgroupsessions.
- Operate office equipment. Schedule equipment maintenance and order supplies.
- Generate monthlyreconciliationand ad hoc reports.
- UseMicrosoftsoftware applications (primarily,word processingandspreadsheets)
- Perform otherduties,as assigned.
Demonstrated Abilities:
- Intermediate typing/data entry skills of at least 45 wpm
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Goodtime-managementand attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated reliability and attendance
Acquired Knowledge:
- Requires aHigh School diploma(withsome college coursework inasocialwork or human servicesfieldpreferred)and 6-12 months ofadministrative supportexperience
- Prior experience working with youth who are juvenile offenders, runaways, homeless or involved in high-riskbehaviorsthat can lead toHIV/STI transmissionis strongly preferred
- Mustpossessa current driver’s license,a good drivingrecord and reliability transportation
- Requiresgoodcomputer software andstrongdata entry skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish would be helpful
