About Us
Atlas Asset Management is a growing property management company focused on operating multifamily rental properties on the South Side of Chicago. Our mission is to provide the highest level of service to our residents while strengthening the communities where we operate.
Atlas manages a growing portfolio of multifamily buildings and regularly executes capital improvement projects ranging from targeted building repairs to full gut renovations. Our team operates in a highly entrepreneurial environment where team members gain exposure to multiple aspects of real estate ownership, construction, and asset management.
Role Overview
Atlas is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support the execution of construction and capital improvement projects across our multifamily portfolio.
This is an early-career, hands-on role designed for someone who is eager to learn how construction projects are managed from the ownership side. The role blends project coordination, financial tracking, and on-site exposure, providing a strong foundation in real estate construction and operations.
You will work directly with leadership and construction partners to help ensure projects stay organized, on time, and within budget, while also supporting construction draws, vendor coordination, and city compliance.
This role reports to the President and works closely with asset management and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Support day-to-day coordination of renovation and capital projects across the portfolio.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
- Help manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift.
Construction Draws & Financial Tracking
- Assist in managing construction draws, invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Track project budgets and expenses to ensure alignment with approved capital plans.
- Support escrow releases and lender-related documentation.
- Partner with the asset management team to ensure accurate financial reporting tied to construction activity.
Site Visits & Field Support
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and identify potential issues.
- Help track quality of work and flag concerns across trades such as plumbing, electrical, masonry, and building systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues that arise during renovation projects.
City Coordination & Compliance
- Support interactions with the City of Chicago, including permits, inspections, and compliance requirements
- Track and assist in resolving building code violations.
- Help organize documentation required for inspections and approvals.
Portfolio Construction Support
- Assist with a range of projects from smaller capital improvements to full building renovations (gut rehabs).
- Support large-scale projects across the portfolio, helping track progress, timelines, and budgets.
Internal Team Support
- Work closely with leadership to reduce administrative and coordination burden related to construction.
- Help organize project documentation, timelines, and reporting.
- Collaborate with asset management and finance teams on capital expenditure tracking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience (internships or entry-level roles in construction, real estate, or project coordination are applicable).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and building systems preferred, but not required.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work across teams and vendors.
- Willingness to be on-site and involved in hands-on project work.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Recent graduate or early-career professional interested in construction and real estate.
- Highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Not intimidated by complexity, ambiguity, or fast-moving projects.
- Interested in gaining exposure to construction management, asset management, and real estate operations.
- Looking for a role with significant growth opportunity and real ownership early in their career
