Distribution Engineering Specialist at Connexus Energy – Ramsey, Minnesota

Connexus Energy is looking for a Distribution Engineering Specialist to join our Engineering Team. We're looking for someone who brings strong organizational and analytical skills. This role will help to ensure we continue to distribute reliable, safe and economical power to our members.

Compensation:

Anticipated hiring range for this position is between $37.45 and $49.15 per hour. The final compensation offered is based on the selected candidates qualifications, experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of annual earnings based on company performance.

In this position, you will:

Configure and maintain Connexus Energy's Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) system to improve the efficiency, reliability, and prevent damage to the electric distribution system with support from the Engineering staff.Monitor critical substation equipment and monitor for abnormal conditions on the systemConfigures and maintain ADMS screens and one lines.Install, and maintain the control system for running customer owned distributed generation under the direction from Engineering staff.Inspect customer owned distributed generation installations to ensure compliance with interconnection agreement.Provide technical support in order to maintain safe and reliable distribution system operation by ensuring proper operation of devices in the field. Need to have:

Associates or 2-year technical degree in electrical technology, electric utility technology, energy services, engineering technician or other related disciplineMicrosoft Office software skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, AccessStrong organizational skills to maintain large amounts of dataCurrent and valid driver’s license Nice to have:

Bachelors or 4-year degree in electrical engineeringExperience in utility engineering or related fieldAbility to read maps, staking sheets, electrical schematic diagramsAbility to learn and apply National Electrical Safety Code and construction standardsComputer-aided drafting (CAD) skillsPre-Employment Requirement: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
