Position Overview

The Orthodontic Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the orthodontist during clinical procedures and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and positive patient experience. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a warm, patient-first approach.

• Assist the orthodontist during patient treatments, including placing and removing braces, adjusting wires, changing elastics, and other orthodontic procedures
• Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure comfort and understanding
• Ensure patients are properly positioned and ready for care
• Maintain efficient clinical flow by preparing instruments and materials in advance
• Take diagnostic X-rays, panoramic images, and/or digital scans as needed
• Adhere strictly to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical areas
• Provide an exceptional patient experience that reflects our commitment to quality and care

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assisting program preferred
• 1–2+ years of orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and terminology
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
