JOB DESCRIPTION
Must be a detail-oriented and proactive Store Recovery & Merchandising Specialist to maintain an organized, visually appealing, and fully stocked sales floor in our premier indoor range pro shop. This role is critical to driving sales by ensuring products are properly displayed, inventory is optimized, and the store remains clean and recovery-ready at all times. You will use store reports and data to help identify distressed, slow-moving, or overstocked items, perform stock audits, execute floor sets and planograms, and perform daily recovery tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Daily Store Recovery Tasks: including straightening shelves and pegs, putting out received or backstock products for recovery, facing products, reorganizing displays, managing signage and advertisements, administering price adjustments, and ensuring the pro shop is neat, clean, and customer-ready. (Primary Goal: No empty product locations, professional appearance, maximizing turns)
Retail Resets: Execute floor sets and planograms as directed by management, including new product launches, seasonal changes, promotional setups, and endcap or feature displays. (Primary Goal: 1-2 major annual resets to give the customers new exposure to offerings that have been proven to increase sales)
Perform General Inventory Data Support: Help collect necessary inventory data, stock counts, min and max recommendations, report stockouts, distressed stock identification, help administer a distressed stock protocol, and review stock reports provided by management, and be able to give feedback and act as directed. (Primary Goal: Use data as directed to make the physical changes to reduce/minimize distressed inventory and appropriate stock levels)

- Replenish stock from warehouse or receiving areas to the sales floor, prioritizing high-turnover items like popular firearms, ammunition, accessories, and PPE.
- Monitor and maintain accurate product placement, pricing, signage, and labeling across the store to ensure compliance with merchandising standards and to maximize product visibility and sales potential.
- Conduct regular visual inspections and zone checks to uphold high standards of store presentation, safety, and organization.
- Assist with general store operations as needed, including light cleaning, fixture maintenance, and supporting peak-hour recovery.
Retail Resets: Execute floor sets and planograms as directed by management, including new product launches, seasonal changes, promotional setups, and endcap or feature displays. - Collaborate with department members to understand customer trends and feedback, adjusting displays to highlight top sellers or address slow movers.
- Prepare inventory to support seasonal promotions, including new product seasons, tax season, hunting seasons, store events, and holiday seasons.
Perform General Inventory Data Support: Help collect necessary inventory data, stock counts, min and max recommendations, report stockouts, distressed stock identification, help administer a distressed stock protocol, and review stock reports provided by management, and be able to give feedback and act as directed. (Primary Goal: Use data as directed to make the physical changes to reduce/minimize distressed inventory and appropriate stock levels)
- Analyze daily/weekly/monthly store reports provided by management (e.g., sales velocity, inventory aging, low-stock alerts, and POS data) to identify distressed stock (slow-moving, overstocked, discontinued items, or items with potential markdown needs). And process it through our distressed inventory protocol or help make the necessary stock level adjustments.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; proven track record in retail merchandising, visual displays, or stock recovery. (Experience in firearms, outdoor, or sporting goods is a significant advantage.)
- Merchandising Expertise: Strong proficiency in planogram execution and the ability to maintain high-integrity floor sets with minimal supervision.
- Industry Knowledge: Functional knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and accessories; must demonstrate a commitment to uncompromising safety standards and secure handling practices.
- Operational Precision: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; must be a self-starter capable of managing store recovery and inventory accuracy independently.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in POS systems (e.g., AXIS) and Microsoft Office; ability to generate weekly reports on the status of projects.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting as much as 45lbs, climbing ladders, and moving heavy fixtures or ammunition cases for extended periods.
- Scheduling Flexibility: available for dynamic shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays to support critical floor sets and store recovery. (During probation, you will work a regular day shift for training. There will be more flexibility, and post probation will be determined by proficiency and abilities.)
- Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening; must meet all health and regulatory requirements for handling firearms (including hearing and lead-level monitoring).
