About This Position
The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently seeking a caring and dedicated Preschool Site Coordinator to join our Afterschool Program team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing YMCA located just five miles west of New York City in the waterfront city of Perth Amboy. Since 1912, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA has proudly served the evolving needs of our community. Today, we support more than 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area through programs and initiatives focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
Under the supervision of the Childcare Program Director, the Preschool Site Coordinator oversees the quality, delivery, and organization of YMCA preschool activities at assigned school sites. The Preschool Site Coordinator works independently under general direction; supervises, trains, and supports program counselors; and ensures developmentally appropriate, engaging, and safe learning experiences for all participants. The role requires knowledge of early childhood education practices and compliance with New Jersey child care licensing, health, and safety requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the preschool program at assigned sites.
- Supervise, train, and support program counselors and volunteers.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that align with YMCA standards.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain open and positive communication with families, school staff, and YMCA team.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, planned activities, and required documentation.
- Promote the program and support outreach to grow enrollment and community engagement.

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
- Experience supervising staff and leading early childhood programs.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with New Jersey child care licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
