About This Position

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Cable Puller to support electrical installation projects in a shipyard environment. The Cable Puller is responsible for assisting marine electricians by pulling, routing, and securing electrical cables aboard ships and marine vessels. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and accurate cable installations across a variety of shipboard systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pull, route, and secure electrical cables through bulkheads, overheads, and cable trays aboard ships
  • Assist with the setup and organization of cable reels, pulleys, and pulling equipment
  • Support electricians with cable identification, labeling, and termination prep
  • Install cable supports, clamps, and penetrations as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety and quality standards
  • Ensure cables are protected from damage during installation
  • Report any obstructions or issues that could impact routing or cable integrity

    • Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of experience in electrical or marine environments (shipyard experience preferred)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Physically able to lift, pull, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas aboard ships
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
  • Basic understanding of hand tools and safety procedures
  • Must be able to obtain access credentials for shipyard entry (e.g., DBIDS, TWIC)

    • Preferred Traits:

  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Prior experience in military or commercial ship repair is a plus
