Mechanical/Welding Technician at MKB – Deshler, Ohio

The Mechanical/Welding Technician is responsible for performing repairs, fabrication, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting overall production goals.

• Perform routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment and systems
• Fabricate parts and components as needed to support maintenance and production needs
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
• Complete welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication projects
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Inspect equipment regularly and report any potential issues
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed
• Follow all safety procedures and ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of mechanical maintenance and welding experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick) required
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
