Join our team as a Security Officer at Garvan Woodland Gardens, one of Arkansas’ premier botanical gardens and event venues, owned by the University of Arkansas.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-profile outdoor environment that welcomes daily guests, as well as special events, weddings, seasonal celebrations, and private rentals. We are looking for professional, dependable individuals with an excellent customer service attitude who can help maintain a safe environment while providing courteous assistance to visitors.

Officers will work as Commissioned Security Officers (CSO) or Private Security Officers (PSO) in compliance with the standards established by the Arkansas State Police Regulatory Services Division.
CSO and PSO training and certification will be provided by Dynamic Integrated Security.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct visible patrols of parking areas, chapel grounds, garden trails, natural areas, and event spaces
• Control public access to the property
• Monitor and secure buildings and restrooms
• Perform patrol rounds and closing procedures
• Respond to medical emergencies, fires, smoke conditions, severe weather, and public safety incidents
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary
• Provide professional assistance and support to guests and visitors
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports
• Support special events, including weddings and after-hours rentals
• Monitor alcohol compliance during private receptions

Requirements
Education
• High school diploma or GED required
• Training in security, military, or law enforcement is a plus

Requirements for Commissioned (Armed) Officers
• Must hold or be able to obtain an active Arkansas Commissioned Security Officer (CSO) license
• Must meet firearms qualification standards in accordance with Arkansas State Police requirements
• Minimum age: 21 years old
• Valid Arkansas driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain it
• No criminal record
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Must have a full-size duty weapon chambered in 9mm
• Must have a Level 3 duty holster

Preferred Experience

• Law enforcement experience
• Corrections experience
• Private security
• Event or hospitality security
• Strong report-writing skills

• Experience with foot patrols and/or vehicle or golf cart patrols

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions

• Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must be physically able to perform extended walking patrols and prolonged standing
