Position: Development Coordinator

FLSA: Full-time, Exempt

Salary: $44,000-$54,000

Turning Pointe strives to raise the quality of education supports for children and young adults with autism. As a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, it relies on partnership with volunteers, donors, school districts and employment partners to build a thriving cent for students learning with autism.

Turning Pointe is looking for an entry-level, Development Coordinator that supports the organization’s fundraising efforts. This role provides administrative and logistical support to the Development team, assists with donor communications and helps coordinate special events and volunteer initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a career in non-profit fundraising and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support online fundraising campaigns, peer-to-peer efforts, and sponsorship outreach efforts which includes materials preparation and fulfillment reporting
  • Assist with preparing and sending fundraising appeals (mail and email)
  • Track donations and campaign progress
  • Enter and maintain accurate donor information in the CRM database
  • Generate basic reports and provide general administrative support for the Development department
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising and community events, including vendor coordination, registration, promotion, setup/breakdown, and post-event follow-up communications
  • Recruit, coordinate, and steward volunteers in collaboration with the team across events and initiatives
  • Cultivate and manage a calendar of volunteer days and corporate volunteering initiatives, aligning partner interests with organizational needs to maximize community impact.
  • Support post-volunteer follow-up communications and acknowledgments
  • Perform other work and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Internship, volunteer, or part-time experience in non-profit, events, communications or customer service a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable learning new software systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace

  • Interest in non-profit fundraising and mission-driven work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Team-oriented and dependable

Physical Demands:

  • May include lifting and supporting up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations
  • Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time
  • Moderate to high stress levels
  • Daily contact with students, teachers, and school staff
  • Regular contact with parents, community members and outside agency personnel
  • May be exposed to contact with individuals displaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behavior
