Position Description
Position Summary
New River Electrical is seeking a qualified Training Coordinator with experience in the electrical utility construction industry to support the development and coordination of employee training programs. This role is responsible for helping ensure our workforce is properly trained, compliant with safety regulations, and equipped with the knowledge needed to perform their jobs safely and effectively. The Training Coordinator will assist in developing, coordinating, and delivering safety-based training programs while ensuring all materials and processes align with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s commitment to safety by helping reduce risk through effective training and clear communication of requirements. This position works closely with the Training Administrator and Training Manager to evaluate current training initiatives and provide recommendations to improve program quality and effectiveness. The Training Coordinator reports directly to the Training Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities- Partner with the Training Administrator to develop training schedules, monitor and report on training outcomes, and assist in maintaining accurate training records for the company.
- Support field operations by ensuring employees meet required training standards
- Notify employees of scheduled training sessions and monitor their progress and completion.
- Conduct classroom, field, and hands-on training related to company safety policies and procedures, OSHA regulations, and safety and health guidelines, using the most effective training methods for the intended purpose and audience.
- Collect and assess feedback from employees and management regarding previous training to identify weaknesses and areas requiring additional instruction and share findings with the Training Administrator and Training Manager to determine next steps.
- Recommend training materials and instructional methods, ensure training equipment and facilities are properly maintained and supplied and oversee the budget allocated for training.
- Deliver compliance training in accordance with federal, state, and local safety laws, as well as applicable regulations, codes, rules, best practices, customer specific terms and conditions and company policies.
- Partner with the Training Administrator to ensure completion of all client required safety and environmental training and orientation programs.
- Facilitate recurring mandatory safety, health, and cultural training across the company.
- Conduct job site observations to identify coaching opportunities and provide corrective guidance, while maintaining employee confidentiality when sharing trends and improvement areas during training.

Position Requirements
Qualifications
- A.S. required, Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred. Professional certifications such as CSP, CUSP are a plus. Hands-on experience in construction preferably in the utility sector, along with a minimum of two (2) years of occupational health and safety experience in a construction environment, is preferred.
- Prior experience delivering employee-based training is required. ET&D Partnership “Train the Trainer” certification is preferred, with OSHA 500 certification recommended as a prerequisite before obtaining the ET&D credential.
- Intermediate knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution construction, including industry standards and best practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to convey complex information clearly.
- Skilled in delivering training and facilitating learning for diverse audiences.

- Ability to work with diverse skill levels and learning styles
- Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and experience with training or learning management systems preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency with the ability to communicate fluently both verbally and in writing is preferred.
Travel is required for this position and will primarily be within the geographical area supported by the role. Overnight travel is expected to be approximately 50% annually.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly be required to communicate effectively, including speaking and presenting in group or public training settings, and must possess good hearing and listening abilities. The position requires sitting for extended periods while working at a desk or computer. The employee must be able to maintain the stamina necessary to occasionally work evening hours when required. In addition, the employee must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 30 lbs.
