About This Position

LAMM Food Service, founded in 1972 and based in Lafayette, Louisiana, is a broadline food

distributor that specializes in delivering high-quality food products and exceptional customer

service. They serve a diverse range of customers, including restaurants, convenience stores,

schools, correctional facilities, and more, primarily throughout Louisiana and parts of Mississippi.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing an assigned customer

territory within the food service industry. This role focuses on developing strong customer

relationships, expanding product distribution, increasing sales volume and profitability, and

delivering exceptional service. The Sales Representative acts as the primary liaison between

customers and internal teams including customer service, procurement, logistics, and bid

management.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and grow an existing customer base while actively prospecting and developing

new accounts within the assigned territory.

• Build strong relationships with key decisionmakers at customer locations, including

owners, managers, and purchasing contacts.

• Develop and execute sales plans for key accounts, identifying opportunities for increased

product penetration and case growth.

• Conduct regular business reviews with customers using sales data and analytics to

evaluate performance and recommend improvements.

• Collaborate with internal teams (customer service, logistics, procurement, and bid

management) to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, and service execution.

• Manage bids, contracts, and RFPs in coordination with internal bid teams.

• Introduce new products, promotions, and programs to customers and coordinate

product requests through established internal processes.

• Maintain accurate records of customer activity, pricing, contracts, and opportunities

using approved systems and tools.

• Plan and manage weekly and monthly schedules, customer visits, and follow-ups using

Microsoft Outlook and CRM tools.

• Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, trade

shows, and conferences.

• Manage assigned expense budgets in accordance with company guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support sales objectives

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must be proficient in the use of computers for Word and Excel (spreadsheets), Microsoft

Outlook, and PowerPoint Presentations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent analytical skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 5+ years direct sales experience in the Foodservice Industry is preferred.

• Marketing experience is beneficial.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Professional office environment. Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures,

lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
