Construction Project Estimator at Advanced Building Corporation – Madison, Wisconsin

This position is primarily office-based and responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates to support preconstruction activities. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, organized, and intrinsically motivated—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of their work from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs across all construction disciplines

• Solicit, evaluate, and compile subcontractor and vendor pricing

• Develop clear, comprehensive scopes of work for all trades included in each estimate

• Prepare project proposals, including detailed scopes of work tailored to each project

• Manage and organize bid documents throughout the estimating process

• Coordinate budget handoff meetings and ensure a smooth transition to Project Management and Accounting teams

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed budgets as required

• Support value engineering efforts to optimize project cost and performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Self-directed, proactive, and motivated to deliver high-quality work

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents

• Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external partners

• Proficiency with estimating software and related tools (preferred)
