About This Position
To maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents and staff at WINGS facilities including fire/life safety, energy management system, plumbing, HVAC, electrical issues, structural maintenance and other internal projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventative maintenance on building systems on a regular basis.
· Complete routine general maintenance projects, including installations and repairs involving plumbing, electrical equipment, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and equipment repair.
· Assists with special projects, renovation, and construction projects, as needed.
· Maintain a working knowledge of the building systems and related code requirements.
· Complete work orders and projects within prescribed timeframes.
· Communicate with staff and volunteer groups on various activities, as requested.
· Assist in overseeing contractors to ensure work matches the specifications.
· Make cost containment recommendations.
· Complete required documentation timely and accurately.
· Maintain variable hours to be able to meet the needs of the facilities which may include evenings and weekends along with rotating on-call with other members of the facilities team.
Requirements:· 4 years of relevant work experience required.
· High proficiency and understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical and ability to troubleshoot those systems is required.
· Experience in appliance repair preferred.
· Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions required.

· Ability to work effectively and independently while maintaining professionalism, high quality, and attention to detail.
· Must have valid IL driver's license.
· Must be willing to use personal tools.
· Possess strong verbal and written skills for effective communication.
· Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to handle physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities, including but not limited to lifting up to 35 pounds using both hands/arms on a regular basis, and standing for 8 hours.
