About This Position
EIP is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support daily purchasing operations and help ensure our production teams have the materials, components, and services needed to meet customer commitments. This role plays an important part in keeping our supply chain running smoothly by managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and tracking orders to support on-time delivery.

What You'll Do
Create and process purchase orders for raw materials, tooling, consumables, outside services, and MRO items
Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors on delivery schedules and potential delays
Communicate order updates, changes, or supply risks to internal teams
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation in ERP/MRP systems
Serve as a point of contact for suppliers regarding order confirmations, expediting, and documentation requests
Coordinate with receiving to ensure accurate deliveries, packing slips, and invoice matching
Help resolve discrepancies such as short shipments, damaged goods, or pricing issues
Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment of frequently used items
Support purchasing, reporting, supplier performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or GED required (Associate degree or technical coursework preferred)
1+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, administrative support, or manufacturing preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments
Clear communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
Preferred Experience
Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
Familiarity with purchasing terminology such as lead times, freight terms, MOQ, and material certifications
Experience with inventory control or PO/invoice matching
Work Environment
This position involves a combination of office work and exposure to the manufacturing floor. Candidates should be comfortable working around production activity and able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
