Junior Estimator at Jax Dirtworks Inc – Atlantic Beach, Florida

The Junior Estimator reports to the Estimator. His or Her primary responsibility is to prepare cost estimates & takeoffs for residential, commercial, and municipal building projects based on the use of construction plans and industry knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Review and analyze drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness and potential conflicts.
• Identify missing information and assist in the preparation of RFI’s
• Understand contractual terms and conditions as it pertains to the final bid
• Assist with the preparation of bid packages and proposals
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs including earthwork, utilities, concrete, erosion control and related scopes
• Request and organize subcontractor quotations
• Meet with potential clients for pre-bid walks

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Experience and familiarity with the civil construction industry
• Clear and fluent knowledge of computers and experience working with Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to use CAD programs
• Exceptional communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Graduate of an engineering or construction management program
• Related construction experience
