Salary: $60,000 – $90,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

Location: Hybrid schedule with regular (2 days) inoffice days in Reno, NV

About the Role

Join a high-performing tax department within a reputable, publicly traded insurance company. As a Tax Analyst, you'll play a key role in premium tax, assessment, and income tax compliance—working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, collaboration, and initiative truly matter.

This is a great opportunity to deepen your ASC 740 experience, broaden your exposure to tax provision work, and make an impact in a lean, skilled team.

What You'll Do

Tax Compliance & Accounting

  • Prepare periodic premium tax and assessment filings, supported by detailed Excel calculations.
  • Gather and analyze data across various systems and maintain organized workpapers.
  • Manage your own calendar to ensure timely and accurate filings.

General Ledger & Provisions

  • Perform complex general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local income tax compliance.
  • Support quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT tax provisions, deferred tax analyses, R2P adjustments, and intercompany settlements.

Research & Continuous Improvement

  • Independently research and interpret state tax regulations.
  • Contribute to improving department tools, processes, and best practices.
What You Bring

Experience

  • 2–4 years in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination.
  • Experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions.
  • Prior work with a publicly traded company (NYSE or NASDAQ).
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with general ledger software.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Master's degree in Tax highly desirable.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work schedule with maximum of 2 required on-site days in Reno, NV.
  • Minimal travel to other office or meeting locations.
  • Primarily sedentary with normal office mobility requirements.
  • May occasionally need early, late, or weekend hours based on business needs.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs).
