About This Position
The primary function of the Accounts Payable Manager is to oversee an accounts payable team, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and maintain accurate financial records and control reports. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Controller.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage Accounts Payable for multiple companies under a shared services concept.
Manage, train and develop a team of five accounts payable coordinators.
Assist accounts payable coordinators in processing vendor invoices and payments.
Develop guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.
Manage the yearly 1099 process: review, mail and upload.
Manage invoice work-flow process for approvals, timeliness and accuracy.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Prepare analysis of accounts and assists in month-end closing, produces monthly or other reports as needed.
Oversee completion of vendor credit applications.
Work toward continual improvement of the overall organization.
Accurate and attention to detail.
Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions.
Document and update process and procedures.
Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences.
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with customers and colleagues through professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness.
Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
Ability to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
Operate with constant alertness and prioritize safety in all tasks.
Fulfill any additional duties assigned by management, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the team.
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
Minimum three years of accounting experience with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with automated AP processing using workflows and imaging solutions.
Must be articulate and a confident communicator.
Extremely efficient and accurate with data entry, Proficient in MS applications.
Experienced paying vendors electronically via ACH.
Able to pass pre-employment 7-year criminal background check.
