Leasing Specialist – Affordable Housing | Rochester, NY

Salary: $18.00 – $19.00/hour | Full Time (40hrs/week) | Monday–Friday | Occasional Evenings or Weekends as Needed

What You Bring as a Leasing Specialist

You bring warmth, attention to detail, and professionalism to every interaction:

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• Experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

• Champion great first impressions – greet prospective residents, conduct tours, and highlight the features that make Conifer communities special.
• Drive occupancy – market available units, respond to inquiries, and manage leasing applications and renewals.
• Ensure compliance – process applications and recertifications accurately under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.
• Deliver exceptional service – assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.
• Support teamwork – collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain high standards for property appearance and safety.
• Stay organized – manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.

The salary rage for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
