In this role you will manage a portfolio of assets worth billions of dollars, with the primary goal of maximizing its equity value. You will be fully accountable for both the short- and long-term performance of the portfolio, and your success will be measured by the increase in its equity value and the achievement of financial targets. Your role involves creating and implementing strategies to unlock additional value, introducing innovative and actionable approaches to drive growth. You will design and execute the strategic direction of each asset in your portfolio to maximize equity and create alpha, including value-add strategies, operational efficiency initiatives, operating platform improvements, and capital market recommendations. Additionally, you will foster a culture of urgency and continuous improvement, encouraging best practices to maximize portfolio performance. You will collaborate closely with the Investments team to evaluate potential acquisitions and with the Debt team to execute financing strategies, ensuring that all efforts contribute to the financial success of the portfolio.

You are an ideal fit if you’re:

  • An entrepreneur, skilled in generating revenue and increasing the value of assets.
  • You love investing in real estate and you are a great real estate investor. You see the potential value in something, and you stop at nothing to unlock it.
  • You have been accused of being a little obsessive and relentless.
  • Determined and persistent in your efforts, especially when it comes to building businesses.
  • Have a track record of successfully executing strategies and are open to challenging traditional methods and norms.
  • Have a “take the bull by the horns” personality and are results-driven.
  • Means and methods to achieve success you will be incorporating are:

  • Monitor asset performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis by reviewing leasing and financial trends, holding calls with Property Management teams to discuss strategy, issue resolution, and projections.
  • Assess capital expenditure needs and develop a long-term capital plan for each asset that aligns with overall portfolio needs and strategy.
  • Monitor trends in target markets. Ensure assets in your portfolio are meeting or exceeding overall market performance. Update senior leadership on strengths and weaknesses for each market and present solutions to implement improvement.
  • Collaborate with different teams to manage real estate tax oversight, assist with insurance claims and legal issues, handle lender compliance items, evaluate potential investment opportunities, and execute financial strategies.
  • Design and execute the strategic direction of each asset in your portfolio to maximize equity and create alpha. This could include value-add strategies, operational efficiency initiatives, operating platform improvements, capital market recommendations, etc.
  • Monitor asset performance regularly by reviewing trends and holding strategy calls with Property Management teams to implement.
  • Own annual budgeting and monthly reforecasting.
  • Property inspections, capital expenditure walks.
  • Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have 6–10+ years of experience in multifamily asset management and a business, finance, or accounting degree. Leadership and the ability to own outcomes and project timelines are critical. This individual will be passionate about real estate, have a ravenous appetite for learning new things, and enjoy a goal-driven, fast-paced environment utilizing your competitive work ethic with a nimble, cognitive ability to adapt to change and succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Senior housing asset management experience is strongly preferred — candidates with hands-on experience managing senior living, independent living, assisted living, or memory care communities will be given priority consideration.
  • Transactional experience is highly valued — including involvement in acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, or financing transactions across a multifamily or senior housing portfolio.
