LTL Dispatcher at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – NEWARK, New Jersey

The LTL Dispatcher must excel at problem solving, managing schedules, coordinating multiple activities and providing a safe work environment for all drivers. You will be responsible for obtaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction for all customers and add value to the services we perform for our customers.

Schedule: 3pm to 1am

Duties & Responsibilities:

Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.

Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.

Continuously evaluating and optimizing existing routes to improve efficiency, reduce mileage, and enhance on-time delivery performance. Identify opportunities for process improvements.\

Preparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.

Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.

Managing drivers and monitoring driver video

Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.

Reviewing drivers logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.

Managing key and truck inventory

Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree a plus

3+ years of experience in LTL dispatching

3+ years of experience with TMS Systems
