About This Position
Palacios Marine & Industrial is seeking an IT Manager to lead IT operations across a multi-site environment supporting offices and remote job sites.
This is a player-coach role requiring both leadership and hands-on technical capability. The position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, leading a small team, driving projects, and maintaining a strong cybersecurity posture while improving how IT supports the business.
The role includes hands-on involvement, travel to field locations as needed, and responsiveness outside of standard hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily IT operations across multiple locations
- Manage and develop a small IT team (2–3 direct reports)
- Set priorities for help desk, equipment requests, and ongoing support
- Serve as escalation point for technical and operational issues
- Oversee hybrid infrastructure including ADDS, Entra (Azure AD), and Microsoft 365
- Manage endpoint tools, security platforms, and system performance
- Lead and execute multiple IT projects, including ongoing migrations and system implementations
- Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and practices to protect company systems and data
- Coordinate with MSP and vendors to ensure performance and accountability
- Manage IT budget execution and identify cost efficiencies
- Provide hands-on support and travel to job sites as needed
- 7+ years of IT experience with leadership responsibilities
- Experience in multi-site or distributed environments
- Strong experience with ADDS, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft 365
- Experience with endpoint management and cybersecurity tools and practices
- Proven ability to manage projects and operational workloads
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance leadership and hands-on responsibilities
Work Expectations
- Salaried leadership role responsible for maintaining reliable IT operations
- Availability outside standard hours when needed for critical issues
- Travel to job sites on an as-needed basis
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, evolving environment
