Health Information Management Analyst

The health information management analyst assembles and analyzes the medical records of all patients discharged from the hospital to ensure that each record conforms to the regulatory requirements of JCAHO, state, federal, and staff rules and regulations. This position completes the physician chart audit, maintains/updates the physician incomplete chart file, manages front desk operations for correspondence, analyzes requests for information, and handles questions regarding release of information. The analyst also works with the cancer registry program on follow up and clerical functions. A high school degree or its equivalent is required; an associate''s degree is preferred. Experience in Helath Information Technology or Medical Secretarial Sciences is preferred.
