College Intern Imaging Tech

Title: College Radiology Student Internship

Job Closing April 15th

Position Summary:
The Imaging Department Summer Intern provides support to radiologic technologists and staff by assisting with non-clinical tasks that improve workflow, patient throughput, and overall department efficiency. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in a pre-radiology or radiologic technology program who are interested in gaining hands-on exposure to a clinical imaging environment.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a pre-radiology or accredited radiologic technology program
  • Strong interest in medical imaging and healthcare
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient transport within the department
  • Prepare and clean imaging rooms between patients
  • Stock supplies and maintain organized work areas
  • Support technologists with workflow tasks
  • Assist with paperwork, exam tracking, and clerical duties
  • Observe imaging procedures as appropriate
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain exposure to daily operations of an imaging department
  • Understand workflow and patient care processes
  • Observe various imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, etc.)
  • Develop professional communication skills in a healthcare setting

Schedule:

  • Temporary summer position (dates flexible)
  • Hours based on department needs and student availability

Education:

Required: High School diploma (or equivalent). Must be enrolled in a Radiology program.

Preferred: Associates or higher in Office Management.

Experience:

Required: Computer skills, with the ability to use a variety of computer programs. Excellent customer service and telephone skills. Experience working with patients of all ages and health conditions.

Preferred: Previous experience in a medical facility.

License/Certifications
