JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs routine and specialized respiratory therapy procedures on patients as prescribed by a physician and directed by department protocol. Oversees the activities of the Respiratory Care Technicians and Respiratory Care Student/Trainees when assigned that responsibility by the Coordinator. Ability to provide care to the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Utilizes knowledge of principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age and condition to ensure that the unique physical and psychosocial needs of the patient are met. Involves appropriate individuals (i.e. patient's family or guardian, outside agencies) in the continuing care of the patient as needed. Ensures that all services are delivered in accordance with the mission and spirit values of Carroll Hospital Center. The RT participates as a member of the patient care team following completion of the formalized orientation program. The RT functions under and is responsible to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator and Executive Director of Cardiovascular and Diagnostic Imaging Service Line. Ability to observe and obtain information, understand the range of treatment needed by patients and reports significant findings to Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS
- Required Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school for Respiratory Therapy
- 2-4 years Previous hospital experience required Required
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
