About This Position
Our Technology Operations (TechOps) team is committed to delivering exemplary customer service and high-touch technical support across our campuses and hospitality venues. We are seeking an On-Call AV/IT Technician to provide hands-on Audio/Visual and IT support for staff, clients, and events in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.
The TechOps team is responsible for the support, management, and security of systems infrastructure across all campuses. This includes infrastructure management, cybersecurity and monitoring, disaster recovery, wired and wireless networking, workstation and telephone support, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network infrastructure support, client and vendor coordination, project management, and support for theater and editorial systems.
The On-Call AV/IT Technician will complement the team with an exceptional customer-service mindset and strong technical experience supporting audiovisual systems, end-user technology, and network-connected environments. The ideal candidate has experience working in hospitality or high-service environments such as hotels, conference centers, aviation, food and beverage, or wine hospitality.
Candidates must be available to support a variety of events and operational needs, including flexible shifts, weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide on-site AV and IT support for meetings, screenings, events, guest spaces, and client-facing environments
- Set up, test, operate, troubleshoot, and reset audiovisual systems and client technology
- Support live events with professionalism, urgency, and a high level of customer service
- Perform room readiness checks before events, including connectivity testing, audio checks, and equipment validation
- Assist with temporary cabling, patching, and basic troubleshooting of network-connected AV systems
- Support staff and clients with device connectivity, conferencing platforms, presentation systems, and mobile devices
- Escalate infrastructure, systems, or service-impacting issues to the TechOps team as needed
- Maintain organized workspaces, equipment readiness, and clear communication regarding issues and follow-up needs

Required Skills and Competencies

- Strong understanding of technology support and the client experience within a larger IT infrastructure
- Experience supporting macOS, Windows 10/11, iOS, iPadOS, and Android
- Audio/visual support experience for large meetings, conferences, or hospitality events
- Experience using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, and other video conferencing platforms
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Flexible schedule, with most shifts occurring on weekday evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting hospitality environments such as hotels, conference centers, aviation, food and beverage, or luxury guest services
- Familiarity with Crestron and Q-SYS control systems
- Experience supporting screening rooms or theaters
- Basic understanding of network fundamentals as they relate to AV and conferencing systems
- Experience working directly with clients in high-touch or VIP-facing environments
