About This Position
The Communications Specialist I supports the Association’s marketing, design, and digital communications efforts by ensuring all content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand standards across print and digital platforms. This role manages day to day content execution, including editing and proofing for publications and eNews, building and testing email campaigns, developing and scheduling social media content, updating website materials, and designing graphics across a variety of formats using Adobe Creative Suite. The Specialist also contributes to photography, videography, A/V setup, and basic video editing while collaborating with departments to create cohesive messaging, maintain brand alignment, and produce high quality visual and written materials that support organizational goals.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or design, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. experience using content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and digital analytics. A solid understanding of print and digital design principles, website usability, accessibility, best practices, and basic HTML/CSS is essential, along with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere).This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to interpret performance data to inform strategies, and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment. The role is primarily office based with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work required for events or deadlines, and candidates must be comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs. and operating standard office and A/V equipment.
Education & Certifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field preferred
-Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
