About Stafl Systems

Battery Technology Solutions for a Clean Energy Future
Stafl Systems is dedicated to advancing all applications of lithium-ion battery technology to achieve a clean energy future. Since 2010, we’ve partnered with industry leaders to push the boundaries of innovation across electric vehicles, aviation, marine and consumer products. Our team brings proven engineering expertise across technical consulting, rapid product development, in-house prototype fabrication and battery pack manufacturing to solve some of the most complex challenges in today’s cleantech industry.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join Stafl Systems’ hardware development team. You’ll work on battery management systems (BMS), power electronics, and custom battery pack designs for industries including electric vehicles, aviation, construction, and defense. This role will focus on supporting the design, validation, test, and troubleshooting of BMS and power electronics hardware. You’ll work closely with senior engineers on prototype bring-up, functional testing, and root cause analysis of electronic boards and systems in a fast-paced product development environment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on in the lab and is eager to grow into a circuit design and PCB layout role. You’ll use Altium Designer to develop boards that go into production battery systems for Stafl’s diverse customer base.

This is a high-growth opportunity—engineers who demonstrate strong motivation, technical curiosity, and consistent performance will have the chance to take on expanded responsibilities and progress quickly into design ownership roles

What You'll do

  • Testing and validating Stafl’s battery management system (BMS) hardware across multiple product configurations and voltage classes
  • Set up and operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, signal generators, and multimeters
  • Execute test plans, procedures, and data collection for BMS and battery pack hardware under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Document test results and present technical reports
  • Designing PCBs for Stafl’s BMS product family and test hardware in Altium Designer (schematic capture and board layout)
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures and assist in root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with Stafl’s embedded software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams on integrated battery and powertrain solutions
  • Communicate technical progress to Stafl’s OEM customers and internal team members

Qualifications You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 1-3 years of electrical engineering experience (internships, co-op positions, design focused lab work, or competitions included)
  • Experience designing PCBs (schematic capture and board layout), bring up and testing
  • Experience operating lab bench equipment (soldering, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads…etc.)
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (LTSpice, etc)
  • Experience collaborating in a team environment across engineering disciplines
  • Experience documenting engineering design work

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working with systems containing lithium-ion batteries
  • Experience with designing prototypes and system integration
  • Experience in Altium Designer or other PCBA design tools
  • Experience designing and analyzing both digital and analog circuits
