About This Position
Atlanta Women’s Healthcare Specialists is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in nutrition to join our team. This role provides patient-centered OB/GYN care with a strong emphasis on metabolic health, diabetes management, and obesity medicine.
The provider will focus on evidence-based treatment, comprehensive nutrition counseling, lifestyle modification, and long-term metabolic health improvement for women across all stages of reproductive health. This position works collaboratively with physicians to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provide patient-centered OB/GYN care with emphasis on metabolic health, obesity, and diabetes.
· Conduct physical exams, interpret laboratory results, and create individualized treatment plans for reproductive and metabolic health.
· Provide diabetic teaching and management of pregnant patients diagnosed with gestational diabetes, including nutritional counseling, glucose monitoring, and medication administration education and management.
· Provide obesity medical management, including nutrition, exercise, and medication education and management.
· Prescribe and manage evidence-based metabolic and anti-obesity therapies.
· Collaborate with the care team to monitor patient progress and ensure effective outcomes.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on chronic disease management and preventive health services.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
· Knowledge of diabetes management principles, including insulin therapy, oral hypoglycemics, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and other metabolic medications.
· Knowledge of obesity medicine principles, nutritional science, and metabolic disease processes.
· Knowledge of preventive health guidelines and lifestyle medicine principles.
· Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures to provide effective patient care.
· Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and interpretation of metabolic laboratory testing.
· Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation standards.
· Knowledge of EMR systems; experience with EPIC preferred.
· Knowledge of patient education techniques and behavioral counseling strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or nursing required.
· Valid and unrestricted PA or NP license in the state of Georgia required.
· Experience in diabetes management, obesity medicine, metabolic health, endocrinology, or primary care preferred.
· Certification or additional training in Obesity Medicine or Diabetes Education preferred.
· EMR experience required, EPIC experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer in a stationary position.
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking to assist and assess patients.
· Ability to move and assist patients as required.
· Occasional bending and lifting of supplies.
· Frequent operation of a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and transport up to 25 pounds short distances.
