Position Summary

The Clinical Research Screening & Scheduling Specialist is responsible for conducting outbound calls to potential clinical trial participants, performing brief eligibility pre-screening, and scheduling qualified patients for study visits. This role focuses primarily on high-volume patient outreach and appointment scheduling to support clinical trial recruitment. The specialist will also maintain simple pre-screening logs to track patient interest and eligibility status.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Patient Outreach

Conduct outbound calls to potential participants using provided lead lists and databases.

Briefly explain clinical studies and determine patient interest in participation.

Ask basic eligibility questions based on study criteria.

Patient Scheduling

  • Schedule interested and potentially eligible patients for screening visits with the clinical research coordinators.
  • Provide patients with appointment details and instructions.
  • Conduct reminder of calls or follow-ups to confirm scheduled visits.

Pre-Screening Logs & Call Tracking

  • Complete and maintain pre-screening logs for each study.
  • Track call outcomes such as interested, not interested, not eligible, or follow-up required.
  • Keep organized records of all calls made and patients scheduled.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and phone skills.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls daily.
  • Organized and able to accurately track calls and scheduling activity.
  • Experience in healthcare, patient coordination, scheduling, or call centers preferred.
  • Clinical research experience is preferred but not required.

Performance Expectations

  • Consistently conduct outbound calls to potential participants.
  • Successfully schedule eligible patients for screening visits.
  • Maintain accurate pre-screening logs and call tracking.
  • Support the site’s patient recruitment goals for active clinical trials.
