We are seeking a full-time LPN Unit Manager to lead nursing care for Assisted Living and Memory Support residents. The ideal candidate brings senior living experience (long-term care, assisted living, or memory support) and a genuine passion for working with older adults.

The Unit Manager oversees staff, implements policies and procedures, manages staffing and budgets, coordinates with other departments, and ensures high-quality resident care in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. As essential personnel, the role requires availability during emergencies, inclement weather, or disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise nursing staff, including scheduling, orientation, performance management, and staffing coverage.
  • Oversee nursing care for Assisted Living and Memory Support residents, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Conduct or delegate medical assessments for admissions and ensure proper care during discharges and transfers.
  • Manage nursing equipment and supplies efficiently to meet resident needs.
  • Review and audit medical documentation, individualized service plans (ISPs), and care records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate resident care with families, staff, physicians, and consultants (e.g., hospice, dialysis).
  • Develop and monitor Quality Assurance programs, departmental budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Maintain and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and training programs, including safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, surveys, inspections, and emergency response as required.
  • Provide floor support and assume on-call responsibilities as scheduled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure high-quality resident care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in long-term care or a related field, including nursing supervision; experience in assisted living and memory care preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes, state survey requirements, nursing and medical practices, laws, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
  • ISP and UAI certification (training provided if not currently certified).
  • Current CPR or BLS/AED certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, supplies, and equipment.
  • Skilled in clinical and diagnostic procedures, assessments, and documentation.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and manage programs, policies, and resources to ensure quality care.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and interact effectively with staff, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the medical community.
  • Ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member and perform all staff-level functions within the department.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
