DeliverIt is looking for a driven Procurement Specialist to be on the front lines with these responsibilities, including sourcing, purchasing, vendor coordination, shipment tracking, and order follow-ups. This ensures timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and strong supplier relationships, crucial for out domestic and international business!

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure timely procurement of goods and services
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing and terms
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain approved vendor lists and support vendor onboarding

Order & Shipment Management

  • Track orders from placement to delivery
  • Follow up with vendors on order status, backorders, and delivery timelines
  • Coordinate shipments and logistics to ensure on-time delivery
  • Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies

Vendor & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contracts
  • Address and resolve vendor-related issues promptly

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and budget requirements
  • Assist with audits and reporting as needed

Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, finance, and warehouse teams to forecast needs
  • Support cost-control and inventory optimization initiatives
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience
  • Negotiating with Vendors: Understanding and executing concepts of push-back, compliance, and general knowledge of rebate and audit trails.
  • Ability to source shot-stocked items manufactured in both the United States and abroad.
  • Knowledge of logistics with freight and cargo, documentation required for said logistics, and the ability to discuss with brokers.
  • Fast learner with a maximum of 1 week of training (knowledge of the fundamentals of the profession is essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Price negotiation and contracting skills
  • Managing purchase orders
  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn how to use FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS services
  • A go-getter attitude, especially for opening new manufacturing accounts.

  • Experience in logistics or healthcare procurement (if applicable)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

  • Office-based with regular coordination with vendors and internal teams
  • May require occasional follow-up outside regular hours for urgent shipments
