Pre-Install Line Assembler - Des Moines at Walsh Door & Hardware Company – Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description:

• Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Accurately read and interpret tape measures down to 1/16” increments.
• Read and understand technical door hardware templates and installation instructions.
• Apply correct torque settings to battery and air tools as required.
• Operate forklifts, banders, and pallet wrappers.
• Ensure quality and precision in all installations with a strong attention to detail.
• Lift, handle, and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and comply with all safety policies.
• Participate in ongoing training to develop mechanical skills and stay current with installation techniques and product specifications for commercial hardware.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to read and understand work orders and hardware instructions with limited supervision.
• The position requires heavy lifting of materials. Ability to safely lift 50 pounds. Frequent to constant standing (8+ hours a day), lifting, handling, stooping, walking, carrying, kneeling, seeing, bending and reaching.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical fitness test.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related construction field preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical door hardware templates and installation instructions.
• Ability to operate forklifts, banders, and pallet wrappers
