About This Position

Description:

The Academy for Innovation in Medicine (AIM) is an innovative public STEMM school opening July 2026 for students in 6 and 9 grade and growing to 6 through 12 grade over the next four years. Through a unique partnership with Grady Health System, AIM provides students with rigorous academic preparation grounded in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine, while offering authentic exposure to healthcare careers and real-world applications of learning. Through this partnership, AIM students engage in experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction to clinical, research, and community-based medical environments.

The ability to speak Spanish is increasingly essential in the modern healthcare system. As the Spanish-speaking population continues to grow, healthcare professionals with bilingual skills are vital for ensuring accessible, equitable, and culturally competent care. Language barriers can lead to miscommunication, misdiagnoses, and inappropriate treatments, while communication in a patient's native language fosters trust, enhances satisfaction, and leads to more accurate health assessments and better overall outcomes. Spanish language skills, paired with cultural competence, are crucial for obtaining comprehensive medical histories, explaining treatment options, and securing informed consent, directly impacting the quality of patient care.

AIM teachers are responsible for delivering engaging, interdisciplinary instruction aligned to Georgia’s academic standards and grounded in real-world medical and scientific contexts. They play a vital role in cultivating a classroom culture that builds confidence, curiosity, resilience, collaboration, and self-advocacy. This position is ideal for a creative, flexible innovator who thrives on new challenges and wants to be part of a groundbreaking educational model. AIM is seeking an exceptional Spanish Teacher who will deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction and help students build linguistic and cultural competence that supports success in college, careers, and life—particularly in healthcare and STEMM pathways. Spanish language proficiency is increasingly essential in today’s workforce and is vital to ensuring accessible, equitable, and culturally competent communication in healthcare settings. The Spanish Teacher will inspire students to develop strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence using Spanish in authentic contexts.
