About This Position

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented litigation paralegal with 2–3 years of litigation experience to join our Binghamton, New York office. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offering a collaborative work environment, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of matters while continuing to develop litigation skills in a professional, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft, edit, and format litigation documents under attorney supervision
- Assist with preparation of pleadings, discovery materials, correspondence, and exhibits
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
- Track deadlines and maintain attorney calendars to ensure compliance with court schedules and filing requirements
- Coordinate scheduling of depositions, court appearances, meetings, and closings
- Prepare documents for filing and assist with state and federal e-filing processes
- Research court rules and filing requirements as needed
- Open new matters and maintain accurate case records
- Respond to internal and external requests for information
- Provide general litigation support including word processing, time entry, filing, and telephone coverage
- Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of litigation paralegal experience preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with court procedures and e-filing systems
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and strong client service orientation
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
