Requirements:Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Excellence & STEMM Integration
Design and deliver rigorous, project-based instruction aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence, specifically in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine) subject areas. Integrate healthcare and clinical concepts into the core curriculum, using the school’s professional simulation labs to provide hands-on, contextual learning experiences.
Develop students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary for success in high-demand medical careers.
Utilize data-driven instructional practices, including formal and informal assessments, to differentiate instruction and ensure every student is achieving maximum growth.
- Student Development & Mentorship
Serve as a dedicated mentor and role model, guiding middle school students as they explore and commit to healthcare pathways.
Provide personalized learning paths and support to help students earn early high school credits.. Foster a growth mindset and a strong sense of professional ownership and agency among students. Collaborate with the student support team to address academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaboration & School Culture
Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to design and deliver interdisciplinary, health science units.
Actively participate in professional development focused on STEMM methodologies, dual enrollment preparation, and innovative teaching techniques.
Collaborate closely with high school faculty, college partners, and industry professionals (including Grady Health System) to ensure seamless curriculum transition and real-world relevance. Contribute to building a positive, professional, and rigorous school culture that reflects AIM’s commitment to equity and excellence.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree.
Valid Georgia teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain one) in Middle Grades (4-8) or Secondary (6-12) Education.
A minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a middle school setting. Proven commitment to high academic standards and student success, particularly for students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Education or a related STEMM field.
Experience in project-based learning (PBL) or integrating interdisciplinary STEM/STEMM concepts. Experience teaching high quality, cohesive interdisciplinary units such as IB or EL Education. Experience with dual enrollment models or college-level curriculum preparation.
