WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE I - RETAIL at Alaska Mill and Feed – Anchorage, Alaska

Team members perform basic stocking and cleaning functions, aid customers in finding products, and carry out orders to customer vehicles. Store Warehouse Team Members must also remain very knowledgeable about products: gardening, pet and animals needs to be able to make recommendations. Customers regularly rely on team members for insights which often prove crucial to purchase decisions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist customers with merchandise.
• Work safely and efficiently to provide excellent customer service.
• Organize and rotate stock.
• Keep store equipment and supplies organized and maintained consistent with safety and cleanliness requirements.
• Learn and maintain product knowledge.
• Clean and maintain fixtures, displays, shelves and aisles.
• Repackage and label product as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check as a condition of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs safely and often daily.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders several times daily as needed.
• Must be able to safely use hands and arms in reaching and moving materials and products.
• Requires lifting, bending, standing or walking on a hard surface for long periods.
• Must be able to climb stairs.
• Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIIES

• Forklift experience is appreciated.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Experience in warehouse practices is preferred. Must be organized and able to prioritize work.
• The successful applicant will have excellent customer service skills and previous customer service experience.
• Good communication and organizational skills are essential.

SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Shifts will generally be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Specific shift times may vary. Qualified applicants must preferably be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
