Position Details
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Technology and Audio Visual Subject Matter Expert to join our team. This role focuses on Q-SYS-based audiovisual systems, integrated exhibit technologies, and video teleconferencing (VTC) support within a mission-driven environment. The candidate will design, develop, implement, and sustain AV and VTC systems, while supporting lifecycle management and operational stability.
The ideal candidate has experience in AV and VTC environments, is capable of programming and configuring Q-SYS systems (minimum Level 1), and demonstrates strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills. This individual will work closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable AV/VTC solutions aligned with established system architecture.
This person will design, program, and integrate audiovisual systems using Q-SYS and related platforms. They will manage and maintain video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, including hardware and software components. They will collaborate with AV and IT personnel to determine requirements and develop system architecture and design documentation. They will program, test, and troubleshoot AV and VTC systems to ensure proper functionality and performance. Additionally, they will provide technical support to project teams and end users as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and modify programming for AV/VTC control systems with emphasis on Q-SYS
- Support configuration and sustainment of DSP, media, and control systems
- Manage and maintain VTC systems, including codecs, endpoints, and conferencing platforms
- Program, test, and troubleshoot AV/VTC systems to ensure performance and reliability
- Support firmware updates, software patches, and configuration management
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines
- Contribute to system-level testing and validation activities
- Perform peer reviews of configurations and changes for accuracy and reliability
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement system changes
- Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting support and assist Tier 1 staff
- Support lifecycle management activities, including refresh planning and system optimization
- Assist with event support, system validation, and operational readiness activities
- Maintain configuration and programming repositories for supported systems
- Coordinate with vendors for advanced troubleshooting and updates
- Assist in development of user guides and operational documentation
Requirements
- Q-SYS Level 1 certification (minimum)
- 5+ years of experience in AV/VTC systems programming, design, or sustainment
- Strong knowledge of AV systems including audio, video, control, and signal flow
- Experience configuring DSP systems and networked AV environments
- Familiarity with VTC systems and collaboration platforms
- Ability to read and interpret system schematics and network diagrams
- Experience with Windows-based systems and basic networking concepts (IP, VLANs)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in customer-facing environments and meet operational timelines
Preferred
- Q-SYS Level 2 or higher
- Experience supporting exhibit or public-facing AV environments
- Familiarity with media servers and playback systems
- Experience with lifecycle planning and configuration management practices
- Experience working in Government or mission-critical environments
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible AV/VTC experience

Salary Range: $125,000-$150,00
