About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Credit Specialist serves as a strategic gatekeeper for the companys revenue, balancing insightful risk mitigation with high-impact customer onboarding. This role is responsible for the end-to-end credit lifecycle of new accountsfrom the initial "deep-dive" financial analysis to securing the first payment and establishing a lasting professional relationship. We are looking for a sharp, investigative mind who can navigate complex financial data while providing a "concierge-level" experience for our new customers.

Onsite in Fort Wayne, IN
COMPENSATION
This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Credit Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive reviews of new customer credit applications, leveraging credit reports, market data, and financial trends to make informed approval decisions.
Advanced Research: Utilize sophisticated toolsincluding SEC filings, Secretary of State (SOS) records, and financial platforms like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and S&Palongside AI-driven data to identify potential financial risks.
Portfolio Monitoring: Continuously monitor the existing customer portfolio for shifts in creditworthiness, ensuring PTRs risk exposure remains within acceptable limits.
Client Relationship: Act as the initial point of contact for new Accounts Payable departments, issuing welcome letters that clearly communicate terms while championing ACH, Wire, and Credit Card adoption.
Early-Stage Account Review: Review the "new rental" phase of the account lifecycle, ensuring PTR is successfully established as a vendor, and the first payment is secured before transitioning the account to the collections team.
Effective Correspondence: Maintain high-volume, professional communication via phone and email in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a seamless experience for potential and new customers.
Delinquency Strategy: Partner with the collections team to re-evaluate accounts that have slowed or stopped payment, performing "deep-dive" re-reviews of bank references, credit history, and entity structures to determine the best path forward.
Operational Reporting: Provide regular, data-driven updates to management regarding account statuses, pending approvals, and outstanding onboarding issues.

REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE

Minimum of two years of college education in accounting or business and/or four years of hands-on experience in a corporate Credit department.
Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft precise, professional business correspondence that reflects PTR's brand.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a "detective" mindset for researching business entities.
Strong time management and prioritization skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Enthusiastic, customer-service-oriented, and possesses a "team-first" attitudewilling to assist in all areas of the business to ensure departmental success.
