Sets up and operates CNC Burn Table machine to cut or perform other machining operations in the manufacture of parts for heavy machinery. Determines operation sequence, selects and adjusts machine to perform proper cutting/burning of plate.

Duties and responsibilities

• Read prints and check for errors.
• Positions work piece onto table or into fixture with jib or overhead crane.
• Coordinates proper programming with CNC controls, making changes, or recommendations for changes as needed.
• Layout and burn/cut metal
• Identify and number material for fabrication, as well as material to be sent out for further machining.
• Operate overhead crane and/or forklift as needed.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs any related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a CNC machine operator with burn table experience or other related CNC machine operator in a heavy industry.
• Must be familiar with and able to read/interpret blueprints
• Experience operating a forklift and/or overhead crane required.
• Good knowledge of and experience working with steel.
• Must be able to load and unload material to and from the burn table.
• Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.) Program Burner

2.) Turn on machines and open valves

3.) Load sheet on to burner

4.) Unload finished parts-onto skid (by hand), with OH Hoist

5.) Place pallet on burn table
