About This Position
JR VIDEO EDITOR
Location: Denver, CO (On-site/Hybrid)
Reports To: Head of Post
Job Summary:
Jr. Video Editor is responsible for crafting visually compelling and emotionally engaging videos that bring Lumenati’s creative vision to life. This role works closely with directors, producers, and the editorial team to shape raw footage into polished stories that align with client goals and brand standards. The editor has a sharp eye for pacing, rhythm, and storytelling, as well as strong technical skills across editing software, motion graphics, and media management.
Key skills:
Editing, Storytelling, and Creative Collaboration
- 1+ years editing experience with work samples demonstrating collaboration with agencies and brands.
- Comfortable collaborating with motion graphic artists, colorists, sound designers and other specialists.
- Demonstrated creative storytelling approaches, transitions, effects, music, sound, and graphics to enhance edits. Stays on the cutting edge of creative trends and technology.
- Works independently; self-directed as needed to create compelling work without oversight.
- Adaptable, trainable, and hard-working. We share projects as needed and have each other’s backs.
Technical
- Deep technical knowledge of video formats and standards, editing software and hardware. We primarily use Adobe Premiere.
- Versioning, resizing, and accurately delivering content across multiple formats and channels to hit specs.
- Maintenance of our video asset archive.
- Beginner 2D motion design skills in After Effects is a major plus. Secondary skills such as 3D motion design, sound mixing, color correction, and compositing are a plus but not expected.
- Prior assistant editing experience is a major plus. Editors do their own footage breakdowns, turnovers and conforms.
